Do you know how County Government records are recorded and stored? Do you know how our County Courts run and what they do?? Thursday Will Gibson, County Clerk/Recorder shared with the Lawrence County CEO class what the functions of his offices are and how vital they are to the County. Many records such as deeds, marriage licenses, birth records and death certificates are stored in these offices. Will also spoke to the class about how his office is also responsible for our elections. It is his office that sees elections provide correct balloting and produce fair and accurate results. We were also happy to meet Brady Waldroup, Lawrence County State’s Attorney, Daniel Shinkle, Public Defender and Cheryl Winkles, Circuit Clerk. They each shared their functions with the courts. Hearing about what these individuals do and learning about the court system was something many members of the class found very interesting. Thank you Will, Brady, Daniel and Cheryl for a very informative visit. We enjoyed our business tour.
